Functionality
Single unwinders.
Depending on the type of corrugated material or line layout, the unwinder can be equipped with a pneumatic safety brake or a drive to rotate the mandrel. The drive, then, is driven by a hydraulic motor or an asynchronous motor controlled by a frequency converter. The eight machines cover the coil range from 50 kg to 25 tons. All these features greatly help in the introduction and retraction of the belt.
Unwinders for several coils.
This version is essential for fast production switching. It allows you to change coils in complete safety while the line is still running. Our range of 6 double decoilers, covers the coil range from 50 kg to 6500 kg. Turret rotation can be manual or hydraulic. Unwinders for 3, 4 or 6 coils can also be offered as special designs.
Horizontal unwinders.
Used for coils weighing up to 1,800 kg and with a maximum diameter of 1,300 mm, it is particularly suitable for coiling thin strips and delicate materials. A pallet loaded with several stacked narrow coils can be installed directly on the unwinder.
Combined system. Unwinder and feeder-straightener on a single platform.
With a standard capacity limited to 5,000 kg, it combines the function of unwinding and straightening the belt in one frame. It can be easily transferred from one press to another. A simple and economical product, it is ideal for unwinding thick or narrow strips, used on fine grain lines, for example.
Maintaining safety
Keeping the coil energized during unwinding start, strip insertion and strapping operations is essential for the safety of operating personnel.
To ensure this vital function, for strip strips thicker than 3 mm, Coiltech, offers a wide range of safety arms: pneumatic arms or hydraulic, motor-driven roller arms.
For double unwinds, install a pressure arm on each mandrel to allow the coil to be changed during line operation. For thick tape or high yield strength tape, the pressure arm operation should be supplemented with 2 additional pressure arms positioned at 120 °.
Side coil supports avoid accidental unwinding of the tape, make it easier to insert the tape into the straightener and contribute to easy unwinding of the tape.
On basic models, the handles are mounted and adjusted manually on the mandrel jaws by the operator. On heavier decoiler models, the tapered reinforced coil holders are located on a separate frame. The distance between the extending guides is adjustable and possibly programmable.
